The other option was Wednesday at PM but that would be past the 72 hours technically but then we risk not getting the results back as fast. I would personally test on Wednesday at p. They do not look at the exact timing of your test to verify that it is indeed exactly 72 hours. If that time slot is still available, I'd grab it. We tested on a Wednesday and arrived on a Saturday and I wasn't hung up on the exact timing of our test. We flew through the airport with no difficulty. This is accepted for entrance to PR and you'll get your results much quicker.
Thanks so much for the quick response. My husband and I just changed our appointments to Wednesday at and I do not see Abbot ID testing options on the Walgreens site? I live in Germantown, WI.. I feel much better about testing Wed. I think we should be okay for this trip using the drive-thru test. If we go to PR again soon, which we will I may look into that again but who know if things will have changed by then.
If interested in the future, you might have to broaden your search and travel to a different Walgreens to obtain the NOW ID test. They have the lab equipment right on site at certain Walgreens for in-store quick results and it is pricey equipment, thus less locations. Okay- that is good to know. I have no problem with going to other Walgreens locations, is Now ID a rapid test?
The Walgreens locations closest to us don't even offer the PCR testing right now. We are getting our PCR test done in Grafton. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. Thanks again! If I remember correctly, we did receive our results in about 48 hours, but it's never guaranteed. American Airlines is not the one checking your Covid results for travel to Puerto Rico. You will show your results once in PR and trying to exit the PR airport. For me living in MI the turnaround time is quicker if you are tested on the weekend because the labs are sent to a different, and closer, laboratory.
Wow, interesting, Natalie. I hope I'm not giving out misinformation. That is not my intent. It'll be interesting to see how things play out. Great idea for you to get two tests! Something went horribly wrong with the Pixel turnaround and I just received my results today, 14 days after FedEx'ing them. So glad I had a backup test.
